The Lenovo X1 Carbon is part of the Lenovo Thinkpad range. It is a notebook computer targeted at the top end of town that was first released in 2012 and updates on an annual basis. By far one of Lenovo’s flagship and most popular products, the Thinkpad X1 Carbon Touch features a multi-touch enabled screen, which allows users of the device to take advantage of Microsoft’s touch-optimised Windows operating systems.

Its 10 point multi-touch screen improves accuracy, which means that touch-browsing and selecting items on the device is responsive and precise for the user. The adaptive keyboard automatically changes the row of function keys depending what application you’re in – ideal for startups working in multiple coding languages.

The product also has a 2560 x 1440 colourburst display and antiglare screen, which means that, as a user, you experience crisper text, brighter images, and a more accurate colour palate; the device is also available in HD+ with a 1600 x 900 display.

Perhaps one of the most prominent features of the device its long life-span, which is due to the fact that it is practically indestructible.

The X1 Carbon device has been built with satellite-grade carbon fibre, while still being one of the thinnest devices that Thinkpad has ever made. Lenovo perform eight separate military specification tests on the product – under extreme conditions with dust, vibration, heat, cold, altitude, water, and humidity.

Add to that high-tech security features that have been in-built such as the FingerPrint Reader that lets users use biometrics for login and you have a a device that is suitable to the demands of a scalable startup venture.

Lenovo was part of Startup Daily’s recent Data Day event, where they came out to support the startup and small business communities.
