It has been more than half a decade since George Hedon launched the first inaugural Pause Fest, an annual festival based in Melbourne that celebrates creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship, and the ways the three can combine to create innovative new products, services, and experiences.
The festival has grown hand in hand with the Australian startup ecosystem, which was in its fledgling, early days when Pause Fest first launched. Over the years, Pause Fest has attracted people who are driven by passion and purpose.
These passionate creatives will this year have the chance to compete in the Clemenger Creative Incubator, an initiative launched by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne. The competition will see the most original and inspiring idea in Australasia awarded a six-figure investment in agency time from Clemenger BBDO and its agency network.
Aspiring entrepreneurs will have five minutes to privately pitch their innovative idea to the judging panel. The panel, led by senior Clemenger BBDO people and leading digital thinkers, is looking to innovative concepts that are inspirational to both the agency and its clients. The winners will be given access to creative resources, mentorship, networking, workshops, and potential partnership opportunities.
Clemenger BBDO Melbourne CEO Nick Garrett said Clemenger is thrilled to be investing in Australia’s future digital innovation and development.
“Agencies are evolving at pace and innovative thinking and innovative technologies play a large part in how we define success in the future. This prize is an important way for us to connect with emerging Australian innovators and entrepreneurs who want to get their thinking and IP exposed to some of Australia’s most interesting and largest companies.
“This is an opportunity for us to learn from the brightest thinkers and offer them advice and guidance on how to launch their ideas commercially,” he said.
Clemenger BBDO Melbourne Digital Creative Director, Ben Keenan, added that the competition is the perfect opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to win the support of “an army of people fluent in the art of bringing ideas to life.”
“There are so many people who have seen an opportunity, taken the first step towards making it happen, but lacked the resources or network to take it to the next level. These are the exactly the kinds of entrepreneurs we are looking to collaborate with,” he said.
The Clemenger Creative Incubator is just one of the many events running at this year’s Pause Fest. It will be running alongside the festival’s Startup Expo, Pause Fest’s main creativity, technology and business tracks, and a wealth of other side events.
Pause Fest 2016 will take place at Federation Square on the 8th – 14th of February 2016. Tickets can be purchased here.
But hurry, time is running out!
